If you want to always have the latest and greatest, make some dough, become a camera reviewer, work for one of the brands, or sell them quickly on ebay. I guess that's just too much to expect.Īnd you, as the user, have to decide where you get on and off the merry-go-around.
#Why does sony update by region software
How else are these companies going to make record profits, or they could make the product as good as possible and put out software and firmware updates so you can stay current. It doesn't matter that we spent thousands, you gotta do it again. They're old technology from six months ago and nobody want that old stuff. That's how the company keeps selling new cameras, and to hell with the older models. And I can tell that the IQ of your old camera will not decrease when a new body comes to market, so when you are happy with the IQ of your old, don't buy the new. Third, up until now the cameras did got better with every new release, the technics got better, better sensors and better software, faster processors, more options (like WIFI and NFC) so there was a good reason for those updates, things that could not have been done with only a FW update.Īs your old camera still works after the release of the new one you don't have to buy the new one. So what ever Sony (or Canon or Nikon) does it will be never good. the people on these fora complained that there was no successor for their beloved cameras. Second, When Sony waited to update the A700, the A900 etc. Yes there are better cameras out there at the moment, but that does not mean I have to buy them! I think about buying the A6000 now, that will be a real improvement over my Nex 5 I think, maybe I'll wait until the A6000rII comes out and buy the A6000 for cheap. At first, you don't have to buy the new cameras every year or so.I still work with my A700 and Nex 5.
